Walker attended school in the Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, graduating in 1994. In 1998, she earned her graduation at Harvard College with a Bachelor's degree. Welker was married John Hughes in Philadelphia, who was an acclaimed marketing director. The couple have two daughters. They began an affair in 2014 when they began to date.
