Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain, born March 24, 1977 is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in films that feature female-centric themes. She has been the recipient of numerous awards which include an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the top 100 influential people in the world in 2012. Chastain started acting as a child. In 1998 she made her debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet. After completing her acting studies at the Juilliard School, she was awarded a talent-holding deal with the producer of television John Wells. She appeared as a regular guest star in several television series, and took on part in various stage productions. Chastain's debut film was Jolene (2008) when she was 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough by releasing six films which included The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2012). Chastain received Academy Award nominations for playing an uninitiated socialite in period drama The Help (2011) and an CIA analyst in the thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The most commercially successful films were the science-fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015), as well as the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain received further acclaim for her role as a strong-willed woman in the dramas A Most Violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017), as well as the mini-series on television Scenes from a Marriage (2021). After playing Tammy Faye Bakker, she received the Academy Award for Best Actress as well as Tammy Wynette in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (21) and Tammy Wynette from The Eyes of Tammy-Faye. Chastain has founded Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on race and gender equality. She is married to the fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo and is a close friend of Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo
