Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on Jan. 19. 1946 to a humble family of 12 children at one point, realized that she could escape her hardships through a imaginative mind. Her songs were written before she was able to write or read. At the age of 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That same year she made her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. In high school, she made her name local, but longed for a larger stage. She moved to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV show required the services of a new singer by this point. Parton took the offer in 1967 and signed to RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974, as her own albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Love You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the top of the. #1 spot following their broke up. First time, in 1974.
